Timelines by home sizeSpring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are ideal. Temperatures mostly stay in the 50–85°F range where exterior paint cures best, without peak summer heat drying the paint too fast and weakening adhesion. We still paint nearly year-round by working around midday heat and checking surface temperature, not just air temperature. Contact us and we'll tell you the best window for your home and its sun exposure.
It varies more than most people expect. Sun exposure, the paint product, the condition of the surface underneath, and how well it was prepped all play a part, and south- and west-facing walls usually wear first. We don't promise a number of years. At your estimate, we'll point out what's wearing your current paint and how each option's prep and product handle it.
