Ridgeline Industries LLC, d/b/a Elite Finish Painters ("EFP") · Version dated October 14, 2026

The warranty that applies to your project is the version attached to your signed Agreement. EFP may update the terms on this page for future projects.

1. What this warranty promises

EFP warrants that the painting work it performed under your signed Agreement was done in a good and workmanlike manner, as defined by the prep scope, products, and number of coats written in that Agreement. If a covered defect appears within the Warranty Period, EFP will correct it as described in Section 7.

2. Warranty Period

The Warranty Period is 12 months from the Completion Date. The Completion Date is the date of the signed completion walkthrough. If no walkthrough is signed, it is the date EFP sends its final invoice. Warranty repairs do not extend or restart the Warranty Period.

3. What is covered

On surfaces EFP painted under the Agreement, this warranty covers the following defects when they result from EFP's surface preparation or application:

  • Peeling, flaking, or blistering of the paint EFP applied
  • Loss of adhesion on surfaces EFP prepared and primed under the Agreement's prep scope
  • Failure of caulk EFP installed, where the failure results from application rather than movement of the materials it joins
  • Visible application defects, such as runs, sags, missed areas, or lap marks. Exterior surfaces are judged in daylight from the ground, at least 10 feet away, not from a ladder. Interior surfaces are judged under normal lighting from about 6 feet away.

4. What is not covered

This warranty does not cover the following conditions, or any damage they cause:

  1. Substrate or structural movement. This includes foundation settlement or shifting, framing movement, and cracks in stucco, masonry, brick, mortar, drywall, or plaster.
  2. Moisture from sources other than EFP's work. This includes sprinkler or irrigation spray, roof, gutter, flashing, window, or plumbing leaks, poor drainage or grading, condensation, and water rising from the ground.
  3. Bleed-through of substances from the material underneath. This includes wax bleed from hardboard siding (such as Masonite-type siding), tannin bleed from cedar or redwood, knot and resin (sap) bleed, rust, efflorescence on masonry, water stains, smoke or soot, and other staining substances.
  4. Surfactant leaching. This is a temporary, sticky, tan or brown residue that can appear on fresh latex paint in cool or humid conditions. It is a normal characteristic of latex paint, not a defect, and usually washes off with water.
  5. Pre-existing conditions. This includes wood rot, deteriorated or failing earlier coatings, chalking, and any condition listed on the signed Existing Conditions form. Failure of earlier paint layers beneath EFP's work is also excluded.
  6. Normal weathering and aging. This includes gradual fading, chalking, and loss of sheen from sun and weather, especially on south- and west-facing walls and with deep or bright colors.
  7. Mildew, mold, algae, and dirt pickup.
  8. Movement of wood and joined materials. This includes cracks at joints, seams, miters, and nail holes caused by normal expansion and contraction.
  9. Damage or abuse. This includes impact, hail, wind, fire, flood, pressure washing, harsh cleaners, abrasion, pets, vehicles, lawn and landscaping equipment, and plants or vines in contact with painted surfaces.
  10. Homeowner choices. This includes products supplied or selected by the homeowner against EFP's written recommendation, prep or repairs the homeowner declined in writing, and colors, sheens, and finishes the homeowner approved.
  11. Paint product defects. Defects in the manufacture of paint or materials are covered only by the manufacturer's own warranty. EFP will provide product and batch information to help with a manufacturer claim.
  12. Work by others. Any surface touched up, repaired, or repainted by anyone other than EFP before EFP has inspected the claimed defect is excluded.
  13. Surfaces outside the Agreement's written scope, and any carpentry, replacement, or repair work not itemized in the Agreement.
  14. Minor differences in touch-ups. Repaired areas may differ slightly in color or sheen from surrounding paint that has weathered. This is normal and is not a defect.

5. Conditions of coverage

This warranty applies only when all of the following are true:

  • The Agreement has been paid in full.
  • The homeowner gives EFP written notice of the claimed defect within the Warranty Period, and within 30 days of first noticing it. Email to will@efpainters.com or a text to 210-802-0035 counts as written notice.
  • The homeowner gives EFP reasonable access to inspect the claimed defect, and to make any repair.
  • No one other than EFP has attempted to repair the claimed defect before EFP inspects it.

This warranty is extended only to the homeowner named in the Agreement and is not transferable to a later owner.

6. How a claim works

  1. Notice. Send a description and photos of the issue by email or text.
  2. Response. EFP will respond within 5 business days to schedule an inspection.
  3. Inspection. EFP inspects the area to determine the cause of the issue.
  4. Decision. EFP will tell you in writing whether the issue is covered.
  5. Repair. If the issue is covered, EFP will schedule the repair within a reasonable time. Exterior repairs depend on weather and temperature conditions suitable for painting.

7. Your remedy

If a defect is covered, EFP will, at its option, either (a) prepare and recoat the affected area only, using the original product and color where still available, or (b) refund the portion of the Agreement price that applies to the affected area. EFP will not repaint whole walls, elevations, or rooms to correct a localized defect.

8. Limits

The remedy in Section 7 is the sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty. To the extent allowed by law, EFP is not liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including loss of use, inconvenience, or damage to property other than the painted surfaces. To the extent allowed by law, EFP's total liability under this warranty will not exceed the Agreement price.

9. Your other rights

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights under Texas law. Nothing in this warranty limits any right that cannot be limited by law.
